A Community Remembers

A note-worthy and multi-generational ceremony of remembrance was organized
by friends and associates of Les Fusiliers de Mont Royal, last Friday November 11
at the Outremont Park Cenotaph. The presence of young, very appreciated by the
veterans, gave an intergenerational character to the event. Read More..

Unveiling ceremony of the Memorial plaque to the Fusiliers Mont-Royal, held in the Mont-Royal armoury, July 26, 2011, organized by young members of the association Westlake Historical Brothers , with the support of Lieutenant-Colonel (Ret) Guy Gosselin, Organizing Committee of Les Amis(es) des Forces and Lieutenant-Colonel Roy, Commander of Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal, and the presence of Mr. Crowe and Vézina, the FMR Association and Pierre Vennat, Historian of the regiment.

Niagara Falls unveils Veterans Memorial Highway

Members of the Garrison Community Council of Niagara were honoured to join over one hundred Veterans on Thursday morning, September 23, to witness the unveiling of a new highway sign for Niagara Falls. Highway 420, also known as Roberts Street, which proceeds from the Queen Elizabeth II Highway, through
the heart of the city to the Niagara River and on to the United States, wasofficially renamed the “Veterans Memorial Highway”. Read More ...

GCC-Niagara Visits HMCS Fredericton

As part of the 100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Royal Canadian Navy, Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship Fredericton paid a three-week-long visit to various ports along the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario.
As part of her esteemed history, the Fredericton has seen recent duty patrolling Canada’s coastline; policing international waters against pirates in the Middle East; and delivering much needed humanitarian relief to the survivors of the recent disaster in Haiti. Read More ...
