Old Quebec City
Quebec’s History Documentary
-by Mike Douglas

The 7 year project is going to Quebec City this summer to produce a landmark documentary of the spirit of the Quebecers who made this beautiful city.

On July 3rd 1608 Samuel de Champlain arrived from France with 28 men and a whole lot of courage.  They settled on the windy escarpment overlooking the St Lawrence River.  Only 8 would survive that first winter and out of their determination would grow a trading post and then the grande Citadel. Furious battles were fought here and the city would become a regional hub in Lower Canada and the capital of Quebec. 400 years later there is much to celebrate.

The Breakout Educational Network and Stornoway Productions are in pre-production on a 1 hour documentary illustrating the human spirit of history represented in Quebec City this summer.

Utilizing the best available storytellers in Quebec City is an essential part of our approach.  The search is on for local collaborators and there will be much more to come...
