Cenotaphs, Civic Complex, Pickering
These two monuments (one relocated from Altona Road and Sheppard Avenue to its new location adjacent to the existing cenotaph at the Pickering Civic Complex) are dedicated to those who gave their lives in service of their country. During World War II, more than one million men and women from Canada and Newfoundland served in combat. More than 47,000 men and women did not come home. |
